I want to take Korean language classes and I have a few questions:

1. If I have an E2 teaching visa can I take courses at a University? Do I have to get approval from my employer or get a special visa?

2. I looked at Chonnam University's site and they offer intensive courses in 4 quarters. They require the entire year's tuition in advance, though. Do most programs require this or can I find one that would allow me to pay per quarter?

3. I am looking for a program that offers classes 2-3 days per week as opposed to taking the Monday-Friday 4 hours per day course. Are there any schools that offer something like that?

Good questions. I can answer partially for you as I'm currently studying at Sogang.

1. If I have an E2 teaching visa can I take courses at a University.
Yes. No special visa required.

2. As the university year is split into 4 semesters you can enrol each semester and pay each semester. No need to pay for a year up front.

3. There are definitely some unis and hagwon chains that offer classes of several hours over several days rather than full-time intensive. Google is your best friend when it comes to this one.

Happy studying.

1. No special visa required. I was on a tourist visa and took classes at Seoul Korean Academy in Gangnam. Now I am at Ewha and have an E-2

2. At Ewha you pay by the quarter.

3. Most of the universities offer evening classes three days a week. Seoul Korean Academy has morning classes five days a week for two hours, afternoon classes (I'm not sure how many days), and evening classes three days a week. There is also Ganada Hagwon in Hongdae which offers evening classes Tuesday and Thursday.

Here are the websites for the hagwons. Google didn't serve me well when I went looking for them. For the unis google works fine.
