I haven't had a decent night sleep for a long time.. and I am having a weekend to myself - so I thought I'd take a pill to get me through a night.

Does anyone know if I can get sleeping pill OTC? Brand name? Low dosage would be good.. I don't want anything strong.

TIA.

It's easy to get antihistamine sleeping pills at any pharmacy in Korea, both Doxylamine succinate and diphenhydramine hydrochloride.

Where do you live? I know of two places that stock OTC sleep meds.

1. Itaweon - the red door shop down the street (and on opposite side) from Geckos. They sell Unisom there for about 14000KRW/bottle.

2. Bundang (near Jeongja station) - the I Love Cookies shop in the Paragon apartment complex by cafe street. They sell Simply Sleep for about
13000KRW or 14000KRW/box.

Both of these meds use diphenhydramine as their active ingredient. I've used them before on occasion. They worked great for me.

Thanks.. what do I say to the pharmacist?

Would half a pill work as well as a whole pill?

It's su-myeon-jae.

Good luck!

(Depends on your body weight and what you're used to, I would think. I think the dosage on the pack I have now it two pills; I take one unless I'm really pissed off about not being able to sleep.)

So he just gives out Xanax?

They sell sleeping pills in any pharmacy you go into. They are like 2,000 for a box of 10.

Most OTC sleeping pills are crap. It is the same stuff in cough medicine
that makes you feel drowsy. If you are going to do pharmaceuticals,
you may as well go for quality. Xanax is a smooth ride. It is the
Cadillac of sleepers. Take 1mg of Xanax and you'll sleep. But a
wonderful, euphoric experience will be had first.

AND IT IS 100% LEGAL

And yes, they can be gotten from the I.C. in Itaewon. But you have to
remember Xanax is primarily an anti-anxiety drug. So you should
complain of anxiety AND sleeplessness.

The bolded part is where I agree with Cohiba, the OTC stuff isn't very good. Personally, I wouldn't go into a clinic and make up symptoms to get Xanax if I needed a sleeping pill. If you need something, go in and tell your doctor the truth.

OK, well I got some stuff, I will take one and see how it goes. I just don't seem to be able to sleep through more than one REM.

There is no euphoria with benzos. And, Alprazolam (xanax) is not the cadilac of sleeping pills as it has a half life of 4 hours.

If you want the cadillac of benzo sleeping pills, you want clonazapam (klonopin). It has an 8 hour half life.

If you want to wake up after 4 hours of sleep, go with xanax, commonly used to treat anxiety disorders.

If you need a restful nights' sleep, go with klonopin.

The Itaewon clinic has both.

It's not an opiate, as cohiba hints. There is NO euphoria. You'll feel relaxed on a benzo, nothing more.
