I am returning to Changwon this week-end after a four years. Is the IP still the place to hang out? |

I am sorry I don't know much about the good life in Changwon, but I will say this about the general length of time that entertainment establishments stay in business, especially drinking holes, is very short. In the four years I have live in Gwangju I have seen the nature of my school's front gate, the national university's back gate, and the downtown establishments change with regularity. That said I hope your return is a good one. |

IP is still the number one ex-pat place and still jams in on Friday night. However Jung-woo-sang-a (as I'm sure you know) has expanded quite a lot so a lot of the expats drift about down there in a Korean franchise bar called Kahn or in a bar in the Jung-Woo building called Chaos. IP is still huge though(even if the navy boys can be a problem sometimes). |

Well, I know this was posted a long time ago... but for newbies searcing for nightlife in Changwon, here they are (ranked according to me)
1. O'Briens Pub (head and shoulders above)
2. Owl/Kahn (they are the same kind of place in the same building in Jongusanga so I figured they only deserve one ranking, but they are both fun spots)
3. IP
4. Monkey House
5. Eisenbrau (If you can tolerate the music, the beer is pretty good)
That's it! Slim pickings... but there are enough foreigners here to keep you entertained. |

Monkey house - what a shithole
I definantly rate O'Briens as number 1 as well.
Another one that might have fallen off the newer foreigners radar is Chaos in the Jungwoosanga building that is behind the big bus stop. Freaky ass pitchers and not too bad.
BTW raytownloc...
Jungwoosanga is a building, not an area. The area Kahn is in is Yongho dong. |
