The point is, to see what people think about it.

Nationalism is Fascism.
With companies and banks begging to be bailed out, they deserve the credit for leading the US into it, not the citizens who are victims of corporate greed and incompetence. Secondly, the blame goes to Paulson for coming up with the bailout schemes that Bush's team put into motion. Until paid back, the government rightly owns them now. |

Kikomom is right. The simplest definition of Nazism I've seen is Big Business and Big Military in bed with Big Government, held together with an expansionist foreign policy (killing foreigners is 'good' for business and keeps the military busy). |

Naziism was explictly racist and expansionist, whereas nationalism per se is not, hence the multitude of non-racist, non-expansionist nationalisms in the world.

Wouldn't "a single dictator" be better?

No, it wouldn't. 'Single dictators' don't get themselves into power all by their lonesome. They represent factional interests and their policies reflect those interests. |

Yes, tool, it would.
Naziism's sine qua non, its raison d'etre and its modus operandi were obedience to a single strong leader, a dictator.
Big government per se is irrelevant. It just sounds elegant alongside 'Big' military and 'Big' business that typically appeals to the tiny of mind.

This does not support your view that Naziism is 'big government' as opposed to 'single dictator'. |
