I've just gotten a job offer from Jackie's Clinic in Seoul. I found a little internet chatter about the school and it all seems positive.
Does anyone have any experience working for the school or have any advice/info?
I'd really appreciate anything you can tell me. |

I was offered a contract there maybe 2 years ago? more or less - then we went into negotiations and turned out they wanted me to be an independent contractor and seems no insurance, no pension, all that nonsense. maybe also no say in working really long hours during intensive times - 12 hours a day perhaps? (don't recall exactly)
when I questioned the independent contractor status they withdrew their offer.
I don't know if that's legal or not, especially since they will sponsor the E2; probably not - and I also don't know if they are still doing that - but anyway, that was my experience. |

I was close to working there last summer. Had problems obtaining a document, so the head dude rescinded the offer. He seems very by-the-book.
They definitely offered me the standard package, severance, pension, etc etc. Intensives sounded heinous, but they had the standard overtime so it would equate to good money. The one teacher I talked to there (outside of the school) seemed fairly happy there, no complaints from him or anything. |

I am also looking into Jackie's Clinic. Does anyone have updated advice on this hagwon? Anything about working conditions, paying on time, apartment offered, pension, severance pay, etc. would be great as I haven't found much information on them except what is on their website. |

OK, so I did find a thread about Jackie's Clinic but that post ended in 2007. I have a general idea about the school, but if anyone has more recent input about his/her experience I would really appreciate it. Thanks! |
