Sorry, Dave's search engine is useless.

How do I get an apostille on a CBC while I'm in Korea (American)? Does the Embassy do this? Or do I have to get the CBC, have it mailed back to me, then mail it all the way back to the secretary of state.

Check the sticky thread "GUIDE: AUTHENTICATING A BACKGROUND CHECK FROM WITHIN KOREA."

Thank you good sir. As a testament to how bad Dave's search is, that thread is not the first to even pop up.

OP - I did not get an Apostille from within Korea, all I did was take my CRC to the Embassy, swore an affidavit that the document was real, that worked IN PLACE of an Apostille.
Don't spend the extra money if you don't have to.

Yeah...that makes me feel a lot better. Honestly, this method is even easier than doing it in the states.

I went to the embassy last week and got the affadavit for 45,000won. It took about 10 minutes, then I went to immigration and got my visa 20 minutes later.
