Sorry, I'm sure this is covered somewhere, but I couldn't find it....
I'm inches away from being hired, or rejected (who knows) by SMOE, but I am already living and working in Korea. My current contract ends just before the SMOE year starts, so no chance to go home. Will I get some cash for the non-existent flight, or no?
Just wondering.....yes is the answer I prefer, though if no is the answer I'd rather hear it now, I guess.
Thanks for the help! |

You may be in luck.
From what I've heard, SMOE is in the process of changing from a "flight re-imbursement" system to a "flat allowance" system (ala EPIK). If the change has gone through by the time you sign your contract you should get a flat amount of 1.3mill.
As I've mentioned in many threads regarding airfare, I'm strongly in favour of the flat allowance system and your situation is a good example of how it benefits the teacher. |

Check into getting paid for the non-existent flight home from your current school too. That would make it a really nice payday: Flight + severance. |
