Sometimes we need a fix of the falldown stuff. I wonder who thinks this is a depressing song. I like it and find it beautiful, but have heard of new order described as a depressing band. What's the most 'depressing' music you know? I often like sad stuff, but then again I'm a pretty sad excuse for a human. Yes, I'm being truthful.

Hey, Katy Pery's music is wonderfully upbeat! At least it's wonderfully upbeat when covered by Ukrainians with thick accents:

I don't find The Smiths depressing...humorous in fact! Add Morrissey's witty lyrics to Johnny Marr's jangly guitar and you've got one of the best bands of all time.
Radiohead for me...totally depressing. |

Band of Horses "The Funeral" isn't that sad of a song, but the video is. Some old man drinking in a bar by himself thinking about his dead dog. Nothing sadder than that IMO.

The song from the end of Donnie Darko always kind of gets me. |

OP, your vid is blocked in my region. I'm in Korea.
This one is real to me. I remember listening to this when I was 15 and it totally related to my situation. It's not only sad, but expresses hope.

Okkervil River is a great band under any circumstances but do they ever have sad songs if that is what you are in the mood for.

(they also have some sweet murder ballads though if you're into that kinda thing.)
also, jenny lewis (who i find very uplifting every time i see her) has a lot of sad songs.

This one's good for suicide funerals and DUI fatalities...Imogen Heap, Hide and Seek. Bummer.

This one's good for mooning over lost loves. Iron and Wine, the Sea and the Rythym.

I hate videos...but that's why God invented 'open new tab' i think.
This one's good too; bums me out a bit for personal reasons, but there's hope in it. Don't get too mopey, jajdude old boy! Buck up, buck up! Jolie Holland sings Amen.

Ok, one more from the same set of pipes, this one being A God-Damned Shame.

Good video too, actually.
On a roll--you got me hunting down depressing songs on the internet. Nice one. This one's cool, check out the lyrics if your ears can move fast enough--"my love's just like vinyl left in sunshine too long, and saved too late." Hah! Damn, Andy Kerr is the awesomest nerd ever.
