There is an illegal worker at my school - NO visa. Person lied to people at the airport and said they were just here on a tourist visa from Canada for 6 months.
Person is making more than the rest of us and it's a pain in the ass to have them around.
Who do I contact about this? And is it in English? And will my boss find out if it is me? I mean, of course I don't want them to know it was me who told. |

Wow. You may as well have named the thread "I'm a troll." At least you would have been more honest. |

Awe- Listen, I've obviously come here because I'm at my limit. If you can't help me then just dont' say anything.
The situation is not good, and this person is bad in the staff and I don't feel safe with them here.
Not a troll, I just want to to what is right. |

Practically speaking, you may just want to speak to your boss about your problems with your co-worker. Having him or her deported will only make you look like the bad guy and you will lose the respect of your entire school.
Also, watch out, karma's a bitch. |

You can contact immigration anonymously (or better yet, have someone not connected with the school do it) and immigration might conduct a raid. Just be careful about whether you really want to do that. I sure wanted to do it to my old academy after I left and replaced me with a guy who was (temporarily) illigal, but I just couldn't do that to some Aussi guy coming here whom I didn't even know. |

Geez, stop getting jealous on the ho, bro and just mind your own business. What the F is it with these little sucky baby foreigners anyways? You must have something substantive to occupy your mind. If not, find something! Because this ain't it airhead! |

Annoying to have around because they make more than you, or is there some other less jealousy-related reason? Geez..
Could they be making more because they have more experience/credentials?
If that's not the reason, don't you think you should try to talk to your coworker about whatever it is that they're doing to not work well with the staff?
Anyway, whatever it is, it's not worth deporting them. That's pretty low... they'd get all sorts of fines and getting deported from a country is not a nice mark to have on your immigration history. And I don't even want to think about the Karma that would come back to me.
Anyway, if you look at it another way, they may be getting more money than you and they may not.. I'd guess no benefits, so goodbye to pension and medical, for one thing. And they are much more likely to get screwed over than people working legally. With all the risk, personally I'd never do it. Give them a break! |

Oh, my goodness. It is an abomination. We must stop this travesty, this criminal behavior immediately. Call the police. Call the Korean Ministry of Justice. Call the FBI. Call the KGB. We'll get it sorted. I swear we will! May I hide my head in shame at this betrayal of all the goodness, the graciousness and nobility that the west has to offer. Oh, it is painful.... |

OP,
you want to report him?
Phone immigration and give them an anonymous tip. (search "korea immigration on google") there is an official site...in english.
You can't find an English number, either search harder or get a korean friend to call. |

"Depends on the situation."
If the following conditions were met:
1) This guy *knows* he's an illegal.
2) He did what he did illegally and knew it when he did it.
3) He's a BEEPknocker.
Anonymous tip.
However... If he's a newb, FOP, nobody *told* him you can't work on a tourist visa, someone else said it's okay anyhow, blah blah blah...
If the guy is a know-nothing jackass but he's friendly enough, probably taking him aside and saying "Hey, your visa is wrong, you need to unBEEP yourself with immigration before someone has you deported.
If he's teaching privates on a tourist visa: Anonymous tip.
The fact that you know his visa type shows that he doesn't have the common sense to know that when you're into it over your head, don't open your mouth.
It's totally your call, there are WAY too many variables. |

That would be a wrong reason, but it would also be the WRONG VISA... Remember, in a 똥 throwing contest, it's not how much you throw, it's how much sticks to you in the end.
Like YBS, if you've got a chance of karmic retribution, and this has no effect on your work performance, then, op, you need to STFU. |

I have a related question: If I end up going to the labor board over some of the shit between me and my employer, will they investigate the other things going on at the school? I don't want to cause trouble for others, I just want a fair shake. |
