Hi all
Newbie here... apologies if this isnt the right place to post this! I was wondering if anyone knew what it was like to teach at Ding Ding Dang school in Daegu as i did a search and found it was slated on here, and blacklisted on another site, however, this is from a few years ago and i couldnt find anything recent.
If anyone knows of anyone whos worked there recently who could shed some light on the matter, id be forever grateful (and il shout u some soju when i get there!!!!)
Thanks xXx |

Worked at a branch of DDD some years ago. Always paid on time but worked the staff and FT's. I would try and talk to some of the present FT's and get an idea of the schedule that you would be working. Also get a photo or an idea of the apartment that you may have to live in. The temperament of the Director is also an important factor in determining if you really want to work there or not. |

The same reason anyone would be bothered to come to Korea, DCJames.
It is not just that Ding Ding Dang, which has is the problem(which has it's
name); It is many other (Chinglish) names in Korea that have the same
problem. However, it is the real adventure behind the name shich is the
problem. |

How about "English Moo Moo"?
or
Crazy English
or
Butter English
or
Toss English
and these are just off the top of my head. |

I always laugh when the Toss English bus goes past. How did they come up with that name? |

They have about a dozen locations in Daegu -
http://www.dingdingdang.com/333/ddd.htm . Let's just say that I've never heard a good thing about any of them. |

I've heard they're ok. But, like others have stated, you should check with the current teachers and see what the score is. Things change pretty quickly. |

Well the name doesnt bother me as such, it made me chuckle, oh and my friends thought it was hillarious too... but that lasts for a few mins ... and its on to whatever next... but do u seriously choose schools based purely on their name? I think there are way more important things to consider, i couldnt care less what the school is called as long as i wasnt being mistreated.... i just go with the 'when in Rome' philosophy.
I will def try and get as much information as i can from other teachers currently working there, my gut instinct tells me not to go forward with this particular school. I suppose i will do a little more research and if i still have the same instincts then i will try somewhere else.
Thanks for the suggestions, and advice |

I did not LOL when I read this. That would be too cliche. What I did was bust a gut laughing!
It's a good point too! |

I find the name far funnier than a full-grown man should. |
