It is not far from Bundang and not far from Seoul. If you had to choose between the 2, I'd choose the one near Seoul as I'd be in Seoul all the time.

I've only passed through the town on my motorcycle. Nothing special. There is a mountain next to it.

I'm in Gwangju right now- it's a small sized city, you will find most everything you need for day-to-day life, but if you are looking for something to do over the weekend, you will most likely end up in Bundang or Seoul, which is anywhere from 30minutes to an hour of bus/subway rides.

bascially its the boonies dude!!
but like another poster said a bus to bundang is about 40mins..and to get to seoul will take double that..

if you have a choice of jobs.. why not find one in bundang...

but gwangju is nice in the sense of fresh air, mountain views, counrtyside etc...

I live in Gwangju now. I like it a lot. As a previous poster said, there's enough for daily life, but most of your entertainment will be in Seoul. It's between 40 min. to an hour into Seoul and about 40 min. into Bundang. The buses are good, though.

There are a lot of foreigners, both English teachers and other foreign workers.

There are also a really good Vietnamese and a Thai restaurant, along with some Indian restaurants that I hear aren't great. There are a lot of "World Marts" with SE Asian, Chinese and Indian ingredients, halal ingredients, and cheap Chinese beer. I love World Marts. They carry fresh herbs that I haven' found anywhere else in the country - cilantro and dill.
