Let's reiterate. Your argument in a nutshell: Maybe it's not genetic so it must be a choice.
If you can't see the flaw in that, then there's no point in continuing this "debate". No amount of childish jokes from you, spliffium or loggerhead will make your argument correct, and just make you look like a pack of trolling morons.
There seems to be at least some evidence that homosexuality is genetic in the twin studies. I have yet to see any evidence that it's a choice. In any case, neither side has enough evidence to make a conclusion. There could be any number of factors neither side has even considered. As far as I'm concerned, the issue is undecided. |

| If it's a choice or natural, who cares. Bottom line is this, being gay has no advantage to you, or to the human race. So if you are gay, you should kind of like just be happy that you can do what you do without anybody attacking you about it. And if you aren't gay, you kind of like don't care or even think about these kind of topics on a daily basis, so who cares. Gay is gay. They can't make babies. They are'nt good at sports. They kind of loose their gayness as the elder years set in. And they kind of like a lot of attention. |

Hey Bob job break this one down for me: "One should ponder the significance of short person behavior in peddle-depressed, pan chromatic reasonance, and other highly ambient domains." Come on professor, enlighten my feeble mind.

has tons of advantages. for example when i found myself a bf, i instantly doubled my wardrobe. also, in these dark times couldn't it be argued that with over-population and what-not, having a sizable non-reproducing gay population is actually a good thing for the species?
and you filthy beast! are you actually suggesting that we should just be thankful we aren't being attacked for doing what we do (whatever that is)? i am thankful that i don't live in iraq or iran, where gays are fighting for rights far more elemental. but i don't think that's what you meant.
i bet you are one of those (cave)guys that are like, "why don't they just stop talking about it." but if we did, then you would never find out that ACTUALLY... ACTUALLY most gays are not the effeminate sissy attention whores you seem to believe they are (gasp). most of us are just regular folk, quietly minding our own business.
i know it might seem intimidating at first, but reality (outside of plato's cave) is actually quite a splendid sight. come join us, woncha? |

if only that were so. some people seem to be bothered quite a bit about the sexual orientation of others.

Can't make babies? Sure they can, and are!
Aren't good at sports? What about Martina Navritilova and Greg Louganis, and probably a lot more professionals that are in the closet? |

Very good, you rhymed Bob with job. If big words like "evidence" and "genetic" are too much for you, maybe you should start off here:

You should listen to "He's so Gay" by Frank Zappa. I think it would clear up your insecurities about your OWN masculinity. Personally, I get more back side than Charmin. Know what I'm saying Mr. Whipple?

I'm being accused of being insecure by an anonymous message board troll. The irony is staggering. |

Close, but not exactly. My argument, is that I am making my opinion (key word opinion) based on varies things that are tangible and can be checked. 30% on twin studies (identical twins) hardly proves that there is a genetic link. The the possibility that I am entertaining is that homosexuality is a "personality disorder." What is the choice side basing their opinion on?

The same could be said about you, you give no opinion or any evidence either way. As you mentioned before this is a discussion board.. What are you discussion? What is your opinion? Your lack of opinion makes you look like a ... well you know

So where is this evidence? I showed you a study with a 30% gay gay rate. That is hardly evidence.
So one side has some evidence the other has 0. I hate to tell you bob, but if people couldn't make an opinion until they know 100% of the facts science wouldn't have gone too far. I guess all those theoretical physicists should pack up their bags and go home. |

You tell me. It's your opinion:

So what are you basing that on?

My opinion is that I don't know whether homosexuality is genetic or not. Call me a fence sitter. I'm certainly not qualified to claim certainty one way or the other.
Do I have to have a definite opinion on everything? I'd never even considered this issue until this thread.

I said "at least some evidence". Your 30% study and the others that were closer to 50% constitute "at least some evidence".

So, let me get this straight. You agree there's no evidence it's a choice and only minimal evidence that it's genetic. Then what are you basing your opinion that it's a choice on? Theoretical physicists base their theories on at least some facts. You have none. |
