I am finishing up my first contract and have a question. If I go traveling for 3 months or so and then decide to come back to Korea to get another job, what would be the best way to go about doing this, to apply from abroad or come to Korea and then get a job? So let's say I have all my documents ready (transcripts, CRC, etc) and I want to apply for jobs from outside both Korea and my home country, how would that work? Would schools here even care that I am not applying from my home country? For example, let's say I am in Thailand, and I FedEx all my documents to Korea, then I get the visa issuance number, could I then go to the Korean embassy in Bangkok and pick up my visa there?
Also, how would I negotiate the return flight if I already have one coming back to Korea? Could I negotiate with the school to give me the cash equivalent of a flight from my home country? Or maybe just a higher salary? I don't need the ticket since I already have a return ticket to Incheon.
I would like to hear from others who have applied for jobs outside their home country, their experiences, etc. |

The simple answer is "Maybe, it depends...".
Even if so inclined, a K-Immi officer could not answer the 10 to the twenty-seventh power permutations your questions generate. |
