I've recently applied for EPIK and i've requested busan as my #1 choice but i dont know if all the positions have been filled for that city. Am I still early? How many school positions, if you know, does busan typically have?

Also:

When i notarize and get an apostille for my copy of the degree, do i need to show/include my original degree to both the notary public and to the person giving the apostille?

Busan is a really big city, with a lot of schools. Chances are you'll be fine in terms of finding a job. My boyfriend and I accepted a position and were here within like 3 weeks if not faster. So you've got plenty of time!

Hope that helps.

The recruiter I used sent out a spreadsheet showing the number of positions available and in what location.

Busan has 50 EPIK positions available and I'm sure a lot of people want to be there. On the positive side, EPIK now has 100 Seoul positions so that might free up some busan positions.

Also, I do not know for certain, but perhaps it just means my recruiter can only hire for 50 positions. I think he told me that Busan has around 200 PS teaching jobs --- those might be mostly filled right now with the March 2009 intake.

Regarding your diploma --- you take your diploma to a notary, have him/her photocopy it and NOTARIZE THE PHOTOCOPY. This will make the photocopy a true copy. The notarized photocopy is all you have to send to the Dept of State to get an apostille, along with some money. They will attach an apostille to the photocopy and that is what immigration wants to see.

You shouldn't have to send your original diploma anywheres.

Or I guess if it's reasonably close, you could go to get the apostille in person. That would be much quicker.

In that case also, all you should need is the notarized photocopy.

I believe it's this. Each recruiter is allocated a certain number of positions as far as I'm aware...if 1 recruiter says they have nothing for Busan, try another recruiter. ESL-Planet, Korvia and Korea Connections are the 3 more reliable recruiters IMO. Not 100% sure if EPIK reject multiple applications (SMOE and GEPIK do) so double check that.

Can't imagine Busan EPIK have filled all their positions. September is still a good while away.
