Where can I get a foldable bicycle with gears? I have a budget of half a
million won. It needs to be compact and light but also durable. The most important thing is that it is easy to fold and unfold. I need it for mainly flat surfaces and occasionally for gentle slopes.

Can I take a foldable bicycle on a subway in seoul?

eh, where's my bike loving buddies on this one?

It sounds like you need a strida

http://www.strida.co.kr/menu_spec.asp

it's a british designed folding bike. Retails for about 400,000.

Lots of bike shops have them.

There are other choices too, but Strida sets the standard IMHO

ooo, I just had a geez at the 2009 prices, ouch!

last year they were in the 400-500 range, this year they are 600-700!

they have released a two-speed model though, and a mini version with 14 inch wheels.

I'm thinking the base model is still reasonable but I can't find it on the site

Do you have a link to the 2-gear information on the bike? I own the earlier version, but want the newer, 2-gear version, if it is available as you say. It is great for Seoul riding as it folds and the hills in Seoul are not very steep.

It will definitely turn heads, as mine is a sky blue frame.

this link is to the retailer that advertises on the Strida site, so there may be other alternatives
