so i just moved back to Canada at the worst time ever. it is tax season and i HAVE NO IDEA how i am supposed to file my taxes with regards to the fact that i was living in korea and paying taxes there for the past year.
any advice would be much appreciated... |

I'm migook, but you should be tax exempt on your Korea income as is the case for migooks making less than like $80,000 per year while living over seas. |

I am not Canadain but my wife is.
If you filed for non-residency than you don't have to pay tax on income from Korea.
If you did not file for non-residency or were not approved then you have to pay. |

If you filed for non-residency and are approved then you don't have to pay tax on income from Korea.

...but thankfully if youre not approved for non-residency then the tax you paid here in korea is credited to your canadian tax and you only have the pay the difference.............can you taste the sarcasm?

Just to add to the afore mentioned, you can apply for non-residency retroactively. |

hmmm...but if i do this I will not have health care...right?!?!?!
i am currently on hold with revenue Canada trying to get it sorted out (very very last minute)
