4 years is a pathetic sentence for stabbing two people. He should have had ten years for that.

Something to be grateful for. At least there was a sentence...

The Perp was not Korean. The "I was drunk and am really really sorry" defence doesn't apply to him.

Well if this was LA it'd be guns not knives. I like my chances here better.

Against a guy with a knife in a bathroom? That's not much of a chance.

that's why you never use the toilet in the bars, you go outside and piss on the sidewalk. Smile

And for #2? Laughing

Good point.
Could we have some stats though, if any, on stabs and time away?

I wrote the following in the Korea Beat comments section, and I'm pasting it here.

Having a highly valid source regarding this story, I have to speak up about the following:
First, the person bothering this girl was NOT the New Zealander that got stabbed. It was, rather, the American culprit.
Second, aside from stabbing the guy in the ear and forearm (where he got 20 stitches), he also stabbed him in the back of the neck and through his shoulder blade.
Whoever wrote this version of the story needs to seriously check his/her facts.
Also, think about it...why would someone supposedly "protecting" a girl stab someone IN THE BACK?
The victim's name (for those who may know him) is now needlessly being dragged through the mud. This story should be corrected.

Thanks for the follow-up.

So the American (who supposedly did the stabbing) was apparently the one who was stabbed...so who stabbed him?

How old were the people? Originally it was 42 and 24, still true?

How many times was he stabbed? With that many locations, it sounds like quite a few times! All of this occured in gogo's bar? Or was it elsewhere? Outside the bar perhaps?

I'm also surprised no one else saw it, as I'd think there would be a good solid 20-30 expats there, and at least 1 who probably posts on Daves, I'd think!

I am not sure tons of clubbers go on Dave's ESL. Some do. We occasionally get people posting stories, but then people call them liars.
Only a fraction of the teachers who are in Korea post on Dave's ESL, I imagine.
