So what are you basing that on?

My opinion (what I believe)

My opinion is that I don't know whether homosexuality is genetic or not. Call me a fence sitter. I'm certainly not qualified to claim certainty one way or the other.

So one can only have an opinion on something he has a Phd in? lol

Do I have to have a definite opinion on everything? I'd never even considered this issue until this thread.

Small town mentality.

I said "at least some evidence". Your 30% study and the others that were closer to 50% constitute "at least some evidence".

The link I gave (am the only one who gave a link actually, the 50% was what someone "said") is a rebuttle to those who say that twin studies show that homosexuality could be genetic.

They said, we are looking to show that homosexuality is genetic.. we want volunteers.. Of course those who promote homosexuality would volunteer.

The study I linked was one where they picked twins.. they didn't know the scope of the survey until afterwards. The results are MUCH different.

So, let me get this straight. You agree there's no evidence it's a choice and only minimal evidence that it's genetic. Then what are you basing your opinion that it's a choice on? Theoretical physicists base their theories on at least some facts. You have none.

Well, if you want to "get things straight" you better deal with what I said instead of misquoting me bobber. I never said there was minimal evidence, you did.

So, let me get this straight, you never thought about it till this thread (like you posted earlier). Have not linked any articles (cause you prolly didn't ready any), but you are convinced there are no facts. Rolling Eyes Maybe you should form an opinion or don't bother... either way, give the gerbil a rest. They are scared of the dark.

You asked me what the people who think homosexuality is a choice base their opinions on.

My answer is: I don't know. There's no evidence to that effect. Why do you think it's a choice despite the lack of evidence?

Are you saying you're basing your opinion on your opinion?

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying I have a small town mentality because I'd never seriously thought about whether homosexuality was genetic or a choice? If this is a regular topic of conversation between you and your buddies, you might want to start questioning your own sexuality instead of mine.

What you said wasn't clear. You said this in your last post:

So one side has some evidence the other has 0.

Which sounds to me like you're agreeing, since I'm pretty sure we're in agreement that there is no evidence for choice.

Your lame joke aside, I still have yet to see a scrap of evidence, or a study, or anything that points to homosexuality being a choice, which is your admittedly baseless opinion. Yes I have read about the issue, and everything I read online seems to be biased in one direction or the other; however, even the pro-choicers, or whatever you want to call them, admit that the twin studies don't rule out homosexuality being at least partly genetic.

Since you want links so badly:

You're certainly entitled to your opinion that it's a choice. My initial grievance was with you telling us that your choice was based on some kind of scientific method:

Nope I am arguing from the scientific (theory) model.

when you are simply stating your opinion.

He's such a bobber. You know, I met this fella in Itaewon who told me his nickname was "Johnson Breath". That wasn't you by chance, was it? And one more question if I may, when you're under that water are you bobbin' for apples or nuts? Just wonderin'.
