I do. My public school told me that it's the school's birthday. I have heard a lot of others have it off too due to buddha's b'day and childrens day being so close together.

My son's school is off Friday through Tuesday.

I believe most schools have off Saturday through Tuesday. Whether or not they are requiring staff to report on Monday or not, I don't know.

Both my schools have timed their exams perfectly so I have zero classes this week and the next, and a four day weekend. They let me go home early too. Nyah nyah nyah.

I've got Friday to Tuesday off; a five day weekend! That's almost good enough to travel to another Asian country.

It's not almost, it is! If only you could get a ride to do it. Gotta plan ahead of time by at least a month to get an air ticket as supplies are too limited to handle peak travel periods due to the number of airlines being too artifically controlled to be too few as to protect the national interests of domestic based carriers though a few foreign airlines operate limited flights.

I too have the 1st through the 5th off, but didn't know until last Friday as things were vague until it was confirmed. Friday is also a sports day, but I don't have to come in for it. Smile Can't say much good for the weather forecast though...Don't expect pleasant sunny weather in Korea until next week.

A lot of this not knowing ahead of time stuff is being kept out of the loop. If you knew Korean language then you'd be in the loop, becuase you'd hear what people are saying. For example, yesterday I didn't know electric men would come and cut the power to test the circuits, but my co-teacher knew as she admitted she knew so she shut hers down when I was like, "oooh, my computer screen went black, the lights quit, and I lost my work." Getting the electric back on was a problem I solved as the electric man couldn't figure out what was wrong and showed frustration so I thought I'd take a look at the breaker box to find all switches were off. They were so embarrassed. What dipsticks those 2 hungover looking adjoshies were.

I've got Friday and Tuesday, with the Monday being a glorious day of sports day deskwarming. Whatever, it'll be a good break, but it would have been nice to get away
