Oooooh, is China rebelling against the American market not buying at previous high levels causing millions of Chinese factory workers to be sent packing back to the inland farms they came from?
A box of rocks? The Chinese newspaper indicates someone BIG in the East is starting to give us a hard time which is indicative of times to come. Possibly for buying less due to the credit crunch and economic downturn as well as all the money we Americans owe them. Wow, they sure aren't going to increase sales by selling rocks in place of a gizmo. Probably just some disgrunted factory worker due to low morale as a result of cutbacks.
Reshelving a returned item without checking it out? Now that's just complacency on the American workers part who is also experiencing an all time low morale as cutbacks are made. |

Ha! This part of the article cracked me up:

It's not the first time Wal-Mart has gotten into hot water for selling a questionable handheld. Earlier this month, a PSP system bought at a different Wal-Mart store in Florida was found to contain a memory stick filled with pornographic images. |
Much better than rocks. |

Terrible management is all too common. Rather than trying to manage to add value and make everyone happy, they manage to cut costs and cut corners due to unreasonable pressures coming down from the brass. Terrible executive leadership leads to terrible store management and employee complacency. I've worked in many retail situations and it just got worse over the years as pay stagnated and executives cut store manager and employee pay, benefits, training, and perks for those working under and for them. They cut their own throats in so many American companies.
These are fine examples in this thread as to why business has gone to sh*t in America. Hopefully the new companies that replace the old ones going out of business these days will do a better job at leading companies for customers, employees, lower level managers, and the community. Cost cutting and cutting corners as the main management strategy is terrible ineffective and destructive management style all too common back home. Reshelving the defective returns happens al the time as it comes out of shift and store manager small bonuses if sent out of the store as a loss. The executives put all the business risk on lower level people while under compensating them for their best efforts. |
