Swine flu can be passed from contact with pork (uncooked or undercooked). |
That would be a negative, it's only passed from human to human the same way a regular flu is. |
no. you can get it from pork.

this says that you CAN'T get it from Pork
" Is it safe to eat pork and pork products?
Yes. Swine influenza has not been shown to be transmissible to people through eating properly handled and prepared pork (pig meat) or other products derived from pigs. The swine influenza virus is killed by cooking temperatures of 160F/70C, corresponding to the general guidance for the preparation of pork and other meat. " |

| it's always amusing when someone posts an article that completely and plainly refutes the point that they were trying to make |

Rumsfeld was the chairman of Gilead Sciences. Gilead Sciences is the company that owns Tamiflu. Rumsfeld has a massive amount of shares in the company. The companies stocks are about to go through the roof, as countries stock up on Tamiflu. The same happened with bird flu.
Just sayin'...jus sayin'. |

The UN's World Health Organization has raised the alert over the spread of swine flu to level five - one short of a full-blown pandemic.
A phase five alert means human-to-human transmission in at least two countries.
It's time countries all across the world worked together to overcome this inevitable pandemic..
It is very worrying how quickly it has spread..Let's hope it can be controlled! |

America must be dumb as well because about 1/3 of Americans DO NOT HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE at this time. Most of them will not likely go to the doctor even if they are sick.
Korea has a much better health insurance system than the US so who's going to be sicker?
Why are so many of the posters in this forum so narrow minded and ignorant? |
Mexico has socialized medicine and look how it has killed nearly 150 people. America, at least for now, does not and has only a few reported cases to date. |
It's unclear as to how many people in Mexico has been infected and did not report.
With America's current economy and people losing their jobs and health insurance plans, the government sure isn't doing much to insure "help" for the citizens. The media is scaring everyone but the government isn't doing anything other than saying "go to the doctor".
Sure, people will be "going" to the doctor when they don't have money or health insurance. |

| I just think this is completely overblown. It reminds me of the bird flu hysteria, which also didn't amount to the apocalyptic visions of the media. |

| Is it realistic that Korea could deny entry for people from countries that have reported infections? I have visitors from the UK coming this weekend, it would suck if they couldn't come. |

Sushi - it was in '76 at Fort Detrick. And the vaccinations they gave to everyone had terrible side effects.
The same did happen with Avian Flu - and certain people made a shit load of money from it. How do you think the prices of shares and stocks in Tamiflu will be affected because of this? |
