Just walked by a guy smacking his gf around and I know I should just keep going but I can't.
Stopped and stared him down told him to let her walk away as he was impeding her.
I don't want to get into a fight here because of blood money and no point getting into the middle of a domestic.
So I felt lost in what I could do. I was surprised that a big Korean guy about 35 actually stopped and tried to intervene. I think he did it to save face in front of a westerner.
The young guy starts attacking the 35 year old guy and a fight almost starts. Of course the gf starts to try and break up the fight and take her bf side.
Friggin domestics in Asia are a mess. Hard to believe a guy could have that much anger inside him. |

| Good for you!! Absolutely the right thing to do!! But be careful as you said it can be messy. My roommate and I intervened in a fight one night which on first take looked to be a man assualting a women. We grabbed the man but quickly released him when we realized that he was merely defending himself against the assault of a women and her Mother. They had messed him up pretty good. I am not going to stand idle if a man is beating a woman. |

never get in between a guy and his girl when the guy is beating her. unless he's killing her. then you have a duty to save a life.
the woman, in most cases, will pick her bf's side against you. it's not that they like being beaten, it's just that they still have allegiance to their bf.
i look, slow down, shake my head, and keep walking. some things are just out of my hands... |

The hero was actually a Korean man who stopped to help a women being assaulted. The pieces of dung were the other 50 people that just walked on by.
If you are being serious here rather than just being a troll you are a piece of scum. A guy that smacks around girls is the lowest of the low. If you are defending those guys then you fall into that category.
Women who take beatings from their bf have mental problems and low self esteem issues. This still does not make what the guy did correct.
When I was working on my basket weaving 9 year degree I worked as a security guard and I saved a girl who was being held at knifepoint. I was able to get her away and when we got to court she testified against me. But our courts are smart and know that women are caught in a cycle of abuse so we automatically charge the guy when there are witnesses.
So if you are Korean and think its cool to put the smack on a women you need serious couselling bro. Come to Canada and see how long you last doing that crap.
Shangi-la has nothing to do with Korea as Korea is far from a paradise. |

And you will be paying for all of that. Remember this is Korea, where the guy who get the worst of a fight is presumed to be in the right. Plus you will also be likely paying compensation for his time off work. This could run into the millions of won. Plus a lengthy stint in a Korean jail cell to boot. |

Hitting a woman is no worse than hitting a man. Neither is acceptable or reasonable, but one is not worse, nor does indulging in one make one "lower" than indulging in the other. |

"never ever intervene unless she's totally being maimed. If you do, boyfriend is going to assume you're having an affair with his girl, or at the very least he will be deeply embarrassed. When they get home, she's as good as dead."
Seriously, intervening as a stranger just won't end well. Call the police. |

Are you serious? Does this logic extend to sexual harassment of women vs young girls? Of course there's a difference, just like there's a difference between groping a 20 year old and a 12 year old. Both are bad, as you say, but one is clearly worse. Yes, its wrong to hit a man but it is not the same as hitting a woman for very VERY obvious reasons. And men hit women for very very different reasons as well. |
