Sorry if this is a repost, it's not currently on the main page.

Hana bank's system will be down from midnight on Thursday until 6:30am on Monday. No ATMs, debit cards, or other things will work if you are with Hana bank.

Get your weekend cash now.

Obviously you should take all your money out and go to a bank which doesn't do these outrageous stunts.

What a ghetto bank. Always has closures or failures at holiday times.

Many of the banks here do this occasionally, maybe once a year -- they shut down their machines for a weekend & do some kind of system overhaul. They give ample warnings in Korean to their customers, which of course isnt so foreigner-friendly. Good on the OP for putting this up for others that might be affected.

If you deal with Hana & feel offended, why not let your branch manager know? I'm sure its not an intentional oversight & they'd likely be happy to remedy this problem in future.

That's a good suggestion.
I think I might when they open back up.

Wow, I'm surprised they're not down Tuesday as well.

Kind of like what Nonghyup pulled not too long ago. Evil or Very Mad

Hana bank has never done this before. I heard from a friend they are changing some kind of computer system. I updated my bankbook today in case a few million won end up missing on Monday.

While I never purposely meant for it to work out this way, I ended up with more then one account at more then one bank. I keep money at both banks, while designating one as my primary account (this allows me to take out money anytime w/o the fee) and use the other one as a secondary account. If one of the two banks every did have something like this come up, it would be hard to imagine both accounts being down at the same time. Just something to think about.

Leaving the country on saturday and nearly had all my money stuck here.

I just got royally screwed. Went to the bank to do currency exchange today and it's closed. And of course, the ATMs too.

I am going to Japan tomorrow with 20,000 won in my pocket...

I used to have a Hana Bank account but after they refused to exchange 10 million Won(back when that amount was the yearly limit they would exchange) without asking to look at my passport, I asked to withdraw all my money. They gave it to me by check, but I said I didn't want a check(not good for a few days at the amount the check was worth) and demanded cash. I walked out of there with a huge bag of cash and an empty account never to return again.
