yes we would FEEL pissed off, we would FEEL cheated.
This in not to say that we would come to the conclusion that we WERE cheated. YOu were clearly not cheated at all actually.
Do we really need LAw degrees to understand this simple market economy concept? |

| Hamlet, if I cannot prove that I WAS cheated, then how did you suddenly just prove that I WASN'T cheated? I missed it. |

I cant, that is SO beside the point.
The onus is on YOU The buyer in the transaction. Actually scratch that I can prove you werent cheated, your own inaction led you to the outcome. If he had told you everythig was fine, you got it checked out, it wasnt, youd have come back and said, Im not buying it. Then told him why.
He let you drive it, you bought and paid for it. You were not cheated, you were naive. |

which also leads you to the following questions
1) what did Muffy actually pay for it, surely it wasnt 500
2) why is muffy selling it for 600 000 NOW when by his own admission the carberator was only an xtra 85 000 and he has not even yet confirmed that the carberator has actually BEEN replaced.
The more I look at it, the more it seems like Muffy is the Shady one here.
Course I cant prove it.
Luckilly I have no intention of buying the bike in the first place, so the pondering thought is moot. |

Hamlet, I was actually going to lower the price to 500,000W. Of course I can't PROVE that I was going to... ha ha... there it is again.
I can't remember what I said in that post, but I believe I said the carberator would be replaced... either before the buyer's eyes, or I would get a receipt for it. Honestly I can't remember. |

Shady man, very shady
How considerate of you to lower the price down to the highest possible price you paid for it when you haven't put a dollar into it yet.
Anyway I am done, the point is more than proven at this point. |

| so now that you've decided to resell the bike, my question is this: if someone buys the bike and something breaks, can they expect you cover the costs of fixing it? how many kms will this 'warranty' cover? |

I had a Magma that I bought about 7 months ago. Ran rough as hell all the way home, few weeks later, wouldn't start. Turns out, some guy before me had replaced the carb with one from another bike, and jerry-rigged the throttle/choke/etc to get it to work. Anyway, took it to the local mechanic (who, btw, is a real dick with me as the language barrier makes us both frustrated)... rebuilt Magma carb plus new cables to connect it all properly, labor, and an oil change - 50k won. So, 85k won, you are getting the lube job on that one. Enjoy the johnson rod. |

I had a bike once, years ago, nothing wrong with it. Guy test rode it and it broke down on him. He walked it back. I kicked started it straight away. Brrmm. Nothing wrong with it.
He bought it, rode it home.
He rode home but it never ever started again for him.
It was strange & inexplicable. |
