This is a picture of an apartment comlpex with 40- 20 to 30 floor buildings filled with some of the priciest apartments in the area. Beautiful hard wood floors, on suite walk in closets and bathrooms, extra large verandas, quality appliances and lighting (zero sound proofing or insulation). Average cost - 1/2 million US $.

Here is the cleaning supplies storage facility. Cleaning supplies include, 1 bucket found at the local grocery store, 2 mops - 5,000 won each, one stroller found in the trash and some watery unamed cleaning agent - 1,000 worth per building. Cleaned monthly by an ajuma for a cost of 120,000 a month. Total cost 160,000 won a month.

End result - Sparkling

edit: I think this is funny, I'm not crappin on Korea.

What's your point?

How much do you think people should pay for cleaning?
What technology would be suitable for a PRICIEST apartment to clean?

Can ass wiper be made from silk, yes.

I would expect nothing less than gilded buckets.

No need for mop buckets when there's a perfectly good toilet bowl for the ajumma to dunk her mop in.

A baby stroller with a bucket full of dingy water, probably with no bleach? That is truly sparkling my laughing factor. YOU just made me literally fall over laughing. That is so funny as can be. It's 12:26 and the neighbors are starting to make wierd noises as a result of my loud uncontrollable laughing. OMG! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

You know man, I've been seeing these old ladies pushing baby strollers and thought, "gee, they sure miss their little babies who are now grown adults out working jobs." Poor ol' ladies who remember a war and great depression.

I'm no cleaning expert, so please help me out here.
Mop and Bucket 101
My understanding of mopping floors is that it goes something like this:
Dunk mop in bucket of hot soapy water. Mop a small are of floor, then dunk mop back into bucket.

Subway Station Adjuma way.

Mop a subway platform that is about 5 metres wide and at least 50 metres in length. Total area about 250square metres having not once dunked the mop in a bucket (actually no bucket in site) using a damp very filthy looking mop.

Is there something wrong with my technique?

Considering this is the only place I've seen them mop a subway platform.. I'd say they're going above and beyond.

Watch your heating bills go up in the cold winter months as the Ajuma Opens all the windows to let the dust out.

Is that 160k JUST for the cleaning lady or is it for the whole shebang? The guards, communal lighting, cleaning, lift maintenance, general upkeep, all cost moolah.

I only take it for granted that other cleaning ajumma would do a similar job with that ajumma do in my university (according to the same cleaning SOP Laughing ), I definitely saw they bleach their mop, and they use soap and detergent as well. I am quite bit annoyed they turned the toilet here into a storage of their cleaning materials. Rolling Eyes

Man, my wife insists on doing this. It cracks me up because every time she does I have to wipe down all the furniture to get all the dust off. Not to mention my frozen shrunken testis.

she is using a thrown out baby stroller to clean the stairs in a multi million dollar apartment complex of 40 buildings

juxtaposition

It's like going to a posh toilet in a fancy French restaurant with a bidet and crapping on the floor while using your hand to wipe your butt. Then proceeding to eat your filet mignon after only having run your hands under cold water, finally paying your bill and complaining that the maitre d didn't hand you your credit card with both hands....

I say this only because Koreans seem so concerned about how cleanly their homes are (which is great) yet seem oblivious to the filth all around them outside...
