Its laziness. Id expect Gopher would take 2 weeks to master Russian and then read the original files. Anything less from Gopher would be sub par. |

Our pilots, foot soldiers, tank soldiers, artillery soldiers, et cetera are the best in the world and have the best equipment. But we're all aware of what the ancients said about lions who are led by sheep.
9/11 was unacceptable. It obviously wasn't the fault of our fighter pilots or mechanics, but there were definitely failures at the Pentagon level. Either there was a failure of planning, a failure of execution, or both. That's not a "swipe against the American military." That's reality.
I also believe our soldiers had the talent and bravery to catch Osama bin Laden, but they were hindered by incompetent officers and officials in the Pentagon and in Washington.
I have every right to be pissed off about how the Department of Defense has fucked up pretty much everything this whole decade: 9/11, the escape of bin Laden, Iraq, Afghanistan. Just because you, ManintheMiddle, and Osama bin Laden are satisfied with how things have gone doesn't mean I'm obligated to celebrate with you three.
But back to the topic in the thread: How much money will the missile shield cost? (Note to Gopher: I don't know, that's why I'm asking. And no, I haven't read any declassified government memos on the Poland missile shield.) |

I don't buy that the USAF didn't know about the problem considering that millions of bon bon eating housewives watched the first plane hit the WTC on TV nearly an hour before the third plane hit the Pentagon.
I don't know if they were told to stand down or to wait for Bush to finish reading My Pet Goat or what, but heads should've rolled. Knowing we have the best fighter pilots and the best fighter planes in the world, and to think the degenerate highjackers had air supremacy over the Pentagon, of all places, is sickening. In any case, we can all be grateful that the brave passengers on the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania overtook their highjackers and saved a lot of American lives. Those men and women should have a great monument built in their honor. |
