|
|
Hi,
In the past, I bought tickets to Vietnam with a travel agent where I got my Visa as well. This time I bought a ticket online from whypaymore.co.kr. It was so dirt cheap, I couldn't resist. BTW, it's for my summer vacation.
What is the most cost effective, safest and easiest to get a Vietnam Visa. Please walk me through this process. If you're going to tell me to send my passport and photos to a Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, please give me address.
Or has anyone applied for this Visa online? Is this safe? I don't want to get scammed.
Thanks a lot as usual. |

I believe there is a consulate office or embassy in Seoul so you can a) get it in person,b) a decent travel agent can do it for you, or c) it can be done online which I don't have first hand experience from doing, but I've heard no bad reports.
I don't know where you live, so I can't say what is the cheapest, if you live in Seoul maybe a),
b) is most expensive as they will want their cut, but it's the easiest option
c) possibly cheap too but more of a hassle
Any addresses can easily be found using google. |

I'm planning a trip to Vietnam too, here's what I found.
You need to fill out 2 applications and bring 2 passport photos. You can get a visa at...
Embassy of Vietnam in Seoul
28-58 Samchong-dong, Congno-gu, Seoul 110-230
The phone number is 2-738-2318
According to some random websites it takes about 2 weeks to get it and if you want it expedited (aka at the airport) you have to get special clearance and pay more... good luck! |

if you don't want to get scammed, then you go IN PERSON to either the Vietnam Embassy or IN PERSON to a travel agent.
you do NOT mail your pp or hand it to anyone just because - the least of which someone on an internet forum.
if I were you I'd pay for the expedited visa - it's not that much more - so you'll have your pp back sooner, less worry - I got mine in China once, it was maybe $60?
google for the V embassy or call 1330 or 120 and ask for help finding it.
don't forget to ask about times to make visa apps - they all have set hours for such things. |

Does that Whypaymore website have a place to click for an English translation? |

After seeking the same type of information about Vietnam visas a friend told me about an online site that he and his girlfriend used in December 2008. I used this online service in January 2009 for pre-approval of a multiple entry visa, as I don't live anywhere near Seoul. It would have cost me more money in lost work time, a night's hotel and train tickets than to pay the $50 for this online service. Note that it is much cheaper if you simply want a single entry visa.

My approval letter came back within two days, I took it and two passport sized photos, paid $50 cash USD and received my multiple entry visa. (I needed multiple entry so that I could leave for Cambodia and return again into Vietnam).
Happy travels! |
