Napolitano... that intentionally inflammatory report.

What's confusing?
90% of troops, who happen to believe the Feds have and are far overstepping the limitations placed upon them
by the Constitution, will refuse to fire on civilians of like mind.
Yes, that's what I said.

What's confusing is that you call the report inflamatory but go right on to demonstrate that the extremists would find vets open to persuasion to join them--which is what the report said might happen. If your claim is accurate, or anywhere near accurate, the DHS was correct in mentioning that threat. What's inflammatory about that?

Whatever happened to the military not being politicized? Eisenhower never voted until he was himself running. That kind of behavior makes sense for a professional soldier.

Ya know?
I usually just give you the benefit of your senile loneliness,
with nothing better to do than elicit arguments, DEBATES if you will, from folks here.
It's pathetic, but usually funny to me, in a endearing way.
I also don't slum over here on current events often, so hadn't realized how much you are loathed.

I haven't demonstrated ANYTHING about any EXTREMISTS.
*I* haven't acknowledged they exist. Who the *beep* are you calling extremist anyway, tweaker?
I suppose anyone who didn't behold the miraculous appearance of Barack Obama galloping down the rainbow on his white unicorn to save the planet is an extremist.
There are several generations and wars' worth of veterans available right now.
Which are you reefering to?
As far as I can see, the report didn't mention the current crop of service men and women.

I can't believe Napolitano hasn't been called upon to resign for allowing such garbage to escape her trumped up,
waste of manpower and money, excuse for another department of federal beauracracy into the public light.

That was cute. I especially liked this: "The Federated States, meanwhile, could get on with the business of protecting the sanctity of marriage, mandating organized prayer sessions and the teaching of creationism in schools, and giving the theory that eliminating taxes increases government revenues a fair test. Although Texas and the other likely F.S. states already conduct some eighty-six per cent of executions, their death rows remain clogged with thousands of prisoners kept alive by meddling judges. These would be rapidly cleared out, providing more prison space for abortion providers."

The thought occurs to me that since only about 1/4 of Texans favor secession, that we go ahead and divide the state into two, making a new state out of the western 1/4 and herd the secessionists out around El Paso and wave goodbye to them.

The author makes a good point that without Texas, the Republicans are further out to sea. If I were a Republican, Gov Perry would be very high on my shit-list.

Texas has a good history of producing liberals--LBJ, Ann (GBush was born with a silver foot in his mouth) Richards, Molly Ivins, Jim Hightower... Either on this thread or somewhere else there's an article about how Texas' demography is changing and that within a few years Texas liberals will be competitive again.

Good call. Add Linda Ellerby to the list, too.

Texas Republicans are not alone. Here are some stats from Georgia:

Research 2000 for Daily Kos. 4/27-29. Likely voters. MoE 4% (No trend lines)

Do you think Georgia would be better off as an independent nation or as part of the United States of America?

US: 68
Independent nation: 27

Democrats: US 88, Ind 8
Republicans: US 52, Ind 43
Independents: US 61, Ind 33

Would you approve or disapprove of Georgia leaving the United States?

Approve: 18
Disapprove: 76

Democrats: Approve 5, Disapprove 89
Republicans: Approve 32, Disapprove 63
Independents: Approve 14, Disapprove 79

To be fair, as someone mentioned somewhere, some of the 'yes' answerers may well be misunderstanding the key word 'secede' as 'succeed'.

All right, Mr. Cunning Linguist.
What's the difference?
