Hello,
I guess I shall start by saying that I was an English teacher in Korea a few years ago. Because of my time in Korea, my family was interested in learning more about the culture and people, so they hosted a Korean exchange student this year. We all love him and he's now a part of the family. None of us want him to go back, but he must.
Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone knew anything about quarantine once you get to Korea because of the swine flu? He told us that when he returned to Korea he was going to go into quarantine for 30 days. He's not the joker type, so I don't think he made it up but I'm not sure if maybe one of his friends or a family member told him as a joke. 30 days sounds excessive, but it wouldn't be the strangest thing to happen considering some of my past medical experiences in Korea. My mother is worried sick, we're in Texas but the nearest reported case was a good hour away. No one here is really worried about the swine flu, but my family is worried about our poor Jae going back and having to be quarantined.
If anyone can shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. |
