Ok, maybe im missing the obvious on this site - but i dont seem to be getting anywhere on the job front search for korea (and also taiwan/china if anyone knows about them).

I have worked in vietnam and thailand as well as cambodia (where it is cheap enough to just turn up then look in local paper for jobs).

Any google search though, on korea, china or taiwan just churns out :
out of date job sites
reams and reams of 'click here ads' to read and i just want to pick out main points
and i dont particularly like the way jobs are listed on this site either

All i am looking for is a short-ish contract and college-adult student age.
You would think one agency would have some sort of spreadsheet format with the headers - location /pay / hours / age of students / contract length / date of posting / end date of application blah blah - ON ITS MAIN (JOB) PAGE
wouldnt it would make life so mush easier?

anyway, does this type of site exist, or, even better is there something similar to newhanonian/ajarn/english written local publication - ONLINE - that lists current jobs with ALL the info i need to make a decision.

I want short contract , teaching adults - ie. perhaps a needle in the haystack in korea.

If these short descriptions said "6 month contract, teaching adults - click here. then i wouldnt have to sift through hundreds of click here ads.

I already said i looked here and didnt like it.
I was asking for another way of job searching. Someone already told me worknplay site which is a bit better than here. Well maybe i'll just have to stick with the SEAsia i know - shame really though.

In my opinion, this is the best site for finding jobs in Korea. I've found all my jobs on this site, including my job last year for a foreign language high school and my job this year with the Korean Army. There are diamonds in the rough, so to speak; you just have to do some sifting.

backpacker?? - wealthy, professional teacher (i say professional because i of taught in my own country as opposed to esl).
yes, and please dont reply telling me how professional tefl is. maybe some see it that way, but 90% of teaching i have seen in Asia is below standard (i wouldnt know how to assess kindergarden teaching though -which seems to be what korea is about)
besides, im not here to critize - but find a job

i admit i dont like sifting and i dont have time for sifting. when a website annoys me i just move on. unfortunatley, i havent found the right site for me for china/korea yet.

The best way to find a job in Korea is to post your resume here on Dave's and let them come to you. You will get many, many calls and many, many e-mails.

You will have to sift through all the job offers for the good ones though. That will require work. There is a lot of crap here and you have to be patient and be willing to put in the time to find a good school.

Most places want a teacher for one year though...so finding a six-month contract won't be as easy.

This site is the main portal for Korea ESL jobs. I found my recruiter on here. Just don't expect American/European style herb roll your owns during this gig unless you fly somewhere on vacation that sells this vice only to temporarily enjoy in that special oasis of free spiritness is quite commonly only outside of Korea. Korea is weird, but just try a gig here if you're interested. I think everyone, or most people, should travel and see the world to learn and understand the Earth and humanity. Serious. Nearly all people should be able to take trips. It's something magnificently educational on how you learn and realize more about your home country when spending time abroad experiencing other lands and cultures.
