A few years ago, a young American female English teacher was found murdered in a cheap hotel near the bottom of Hooker Hill. She and a group of her coworkers had come into Seoul for the weekend and had gone dancing at a club in Itaewon
It was believed that a drunk male (possibly a GI) did it, but I think it was subsequently learned that another young lady (a spurned lesbian lover?) did it. What ever came of these people, the wrongfully accused guy and the alleged lesbian friend? Anyone know?
There was a blog/web site up for quite a while but I couldn't find it after looking recently. |

It's old story, I can't remember why she was in korea, but she wasn't an English teacher ( I am very sure about this ), she came to korea with someone ( this was a female ). She was a lesbian and felt romantic feeling toward this girl, but rejected by the girl and that resulted murdering her.
First she confessed that she murdered her friend, but later she denied.
Anyway she was freed by korean court and went back to America. Her parent were all the way with her during court process.
I think she murdered her friend, but korean court.... |

The girl who was murdered was Jamie Penich. She was an exchange student not a teacher.
CourtTV used to have an in depth report about it online called Murder in Room 103 but they must have been bought out or something because you can't access it anymore.
I don't think anything ever became of the possible GI. Her American friend was extradited to Seoul for trial but was acquitted. |
