|
|
I had read on a few sites about teaching in Korea and making bank transfers with your money and trusting other people over there with your bank account to handle your own funds.
Apparently, Koreans have not as much limitations with transference of funds, and thus I had read we can trust other people with our account numbers to do this for us.
I don't know, but I really prefer to be the only one with access to my account information and nothing more. But I'm curious why this is encouraged? I just feel funny having other people handling my funds and bank account information.
Thanks |

| Who is "other people?" The bank teller? Your boss? Some guy you know who's helping you fill out forms? |

| Never trust people with more of your money than you can afford to lose. Think of all the times people have borrowed money from you and didn't pay it back. |

not entirely sure what you mean. I'm the only person with access to my account to withdraw money.
My school has my bank account number so they can pay me, but they are not able to access my account with just my bank account number. |

Oh, I have read in these forums and also on other ESL related sites, in order to circumvent the limitations foreigners have when transmitting funds back home.....(I think it's 10K per month or something where as with Koreans it's unlimited)
So if you want to wire MORE than 10K at a time, you would have to have a Korean do it for you, which would mean them having access to your account numbers in order for them to accomplish this or something like that. |

| Firstly, you can't wire more than you earn. Some banks will ask you to prove your income. And secondly the limit used to be 10,000 per year, now its 50,000. |

I'm allowed to move 80,000US per year out of country. That's with KB.
Yes, you can send monthly up to 100% of your earnings. |

Not true. Your school can make a charge/withdrawal from your account.
I am not sure of the stipulations that are used to determine when your
school can make such a charge, but they are able to do so.
They withdrew money from my account for lunch with no explicit
consent.
