I have two threads in here, one giving people help about travelling OUT of KOrea to canada, and another about advice for Thailand, you know TRAVEL related crap.
Then earlier today I responded to another peson and gave them the advice they asked for.
Sorry I saw this thread and mentioned in ONE sentence that it was in the wrong forum.
I didnt insult, i didnt call names, I simply stated its in the wrong forum.
If you are going to be a teacher you should be able to grasp simple logic, it will make you a much more competant teacher.
This thread IS in the wrong forum! |

That MUST be why there's a visa run sticky in this section. For all of those vacationers.
It's also pretty interesting that you seem to know exactly who visits these forums and why.
I chose this forum specifically because there were visa-related stickies in this section. Obviously, I was mistaken. The visa run stickies are clearly for those looking to get their tourist visas for their vacations.
As far as this being in the "working" forum, the work visa isn't simply job-related, you can't even legally be in the country for a job until you get your visa. Since the visa preceeds even getting to Korea (at least legally,) then it's travel related.
I personally don't give a flying crap which forum is the "best." As long as it's in a plausible forum and not off-topic, does it really matter? Are visas considered off-topic when discussing travel?
I was giving information for people that might need it. But, since you obviously know everything and seem to be the Grand Master of Thread Classification, why aren't you a moderator? After all, even the mods in this forum thought that visa-runs were worthy of a sticky in the TRAVEL section. Perhaps you should start your own site. Call it www.Ihavenothingbettertodothanargueaboutstupidstuff.com
Then, you can put your visa discussions anywhere you'd like.
To the rest of you, I hereby apologize for obviously posting this topic in the wrong forum. Probably should have put it in current events. What do I know? I'm just some FNG FOTB. |

In case of emergency (tight deadlines, etc): you can go to the local police department (I recommend the Sheriff or Highway Patrol, since they are "State" and not simply city (in case Korean Immigration gets ornery about the apparent completeness of the b-ground check.) Anyway, go to the station in person and they'll give you a b-check on the spot, be sure they notarize it at the station (call ahead to be sure they have a notary available.) Then you can usually take the notarized form to a branch office for the Secretary of State (usually in every major city in the state gov. building, usually near the courthouses) they nearly always can do the apostille on the spot. So, it is possible to get that part done in one day if you need to.
Don't forget to get the form notarized AT the police station. Otherwise, the state can't authenticate that the form is "real."
Much of this seems like common sense, but I know that there are a thousand things with which to deal in the visa process, so it's easy for people to forget things. (including me, like especially which forums to post tips within!)  |

Read my original post, it simply said that this was in the wrong forum, because it is. Then you come on, use the word retarded and I made a quick retort.
Try looking at my examples, they are quite relevant. This is in a very small way travel related, but it is WAY MORE a work related issue. You wanna split hairs fine, I suppose you'd accuse me of doing the same thing.
As you noted the sticky is for a VISA RUN, as in people LIVING in Korea who need to get VISA's in Japan and what not. Your entire thread is about documents you need to become EMPLOYED in KOrea, they are not actually TRAVEL related at all. YOu are simply mentioning what people need to do before they actually leave their own country.
So if you wanna throw around the word retarded, in most peoples "retarded" book this makes your thread a WORK related issue.
Pretty simple thing to comprehend really. |

OH PS did you also notice the use of the words PRETTY MUCH???? Because Pretty much most of the people who come here, or so Ive noted based on the threads, are inquiring about VACATION plans. I count very few threads about VISA RUNS (comparatively) |

1) I did not say that you called me retarded, I said that you threw the word out there
2) Please understand my confusion on the matter,
ONE - Jack the Cat ( who started that sticky) is not a moderator. Perhaps it was approved my a moderator, but it was not a post BY a moderator.
TWO - there is ANOTHER sticky like 5 threads below specifically about the NEW E2 VISA REQUIREMENTS. I would make the jump in logic that this means this is where youd discuss said subject.
THREE - Visa requirements no matter how you slice it are not actually travel related, I mean they just aren't, SO I still dont agree with said post by Jack the Cat, but seeing as though its been up for 4 years, has not been removed, or changed by the MOD team, I guess it is an acceptable guideline.
I never meant to start a pissing match, and I still stand by my opinion, and the comparitive arguments I made, however it would appear (at least as far as I can tell) that you ( and others) are in fact correct as far as the site is concerned.
