Ah damn, I have a bad case of Byunbi (constipation) and it just doesn't seem to want to go away. Can anyone recommend some good medicines that are readily available? Don't want any stuff that'll have me running to the toilet every 30 seconds with an explosion of chocolate mix... |

I don't believe any product on the market will be very kind to your colon. Try eating some apples or prunes followed by drinking coffee. If that doesn't do it, call a plumber!
Changing your diet might help a bit. |

Cut down on the white rice, that stuff is pretty much anti-fiber.
Add more grains to your diet. I was having the same problem, until I started eating oatmeal and barley every day, apples and nuts and coffee and so on.
Now I go a few times a day. Love it. |

As Captain Kirk said in his commercials, "make fiber your friend". |

Drink a ton of soju and chase it with kimchi. This always makes for interesting Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Or get down on some oatmeal (maybe some fiber-one?) from costco? |

Drink lots of hot water.
Do you exercise?
Drink some hot water and go for a 10 minute jog or jump rope for 3 minutes and you'll be racing to the bathroom |

Before I quit smoking, I always found a ciggie and a black coffee to be a winning combo. |

Exercise is needed to get things moving. Make sure you're not sitting for long periods of time, or spending your evenings laying on the couch or in bed too long.
Eat lots of fruit and drink lots of water.
Drink a few of those drinking yogurts the ajumma sell. That will replace "good" bacteria in your gut that might have been killed-off recently by antibiotics, for example. |

dried Prunes (don't overdo it) and prune juice both work, but are expensive. Head in to namdaemun and buy the large army base branded metamucil (10,000 won 114 uses). Take it twice a day and you will be smooth as silk |

I concur.
I follow the ABC's of constipation.
A: (I forget)
B: Bananas
C: Coffee
Fiber and bran are good too. Pick up some bran cereal and eat a little bit everyday.
Prunes are also recommended. |

Jesus. Sounds pretty extreme.
Bacchus-D, about four bottles, will give you FIERCE diarrhea. I learned that the hard way last year on Teachers' Day! |

I've found using the squatting toilets here can actually help a lot. Sitting blocks the path out of your body somewhat, requiring a lot more effort to get everything (or anything, in your case) out. |
