How does it compare to Canada's Wonderland? I've never been to Disney, but the wiki page says Everland is comparable.
Is there anything special that I should see when I'm there? is there anything that I should avoid? How are the prices? |

Just like Jeju is comparable to Hawaii.
Go on a date, go with kids, or don't go at all. |

It's great! Admittedly, i haven't frequented many other amusement parks, but i don't see how anyone couldn't enjoy it. The big problem is the crowds. The best time i had there was when i had a day off as students sat exams, so all students were busy. It can be very frustrating when it's so busy. |

True dat. You'll be waiting in line for at least 30-45 minutes for most rides. |

Is it possible to avoid the crowds on the weekend? Perhaps if I go early in the morning and leave by mid afternnon?
Even though it's not comparable to Disney, it's still a classy joint, isn't it? Safe? Clean? Modern? |

ON THE WEEKENDS? That's the worst time to go. Better off going during the week. |

during the week isn't possible for me. I guess I'll have to just deal with the hundreds and hundreds of screaming Korean kids. |

The best time to go is when u somehow have a day off that Koreans, especially children, dont. I can only imagine weekends would be insane. Oh, if you're on a tight schedule i'd recommend avoiding the safari. |

they have a LIGER!
I went with friends on a day that was overcast....not busy at all, but I imagine that was a one in a million chance. I had a great time. It's not nearly as big Canada's Wonderland, but the T money coaster or whatever it's called is pretty awesome. |

Ummm..Everland is pretty tame and lame compared to most NA or European theme parks, but considering the alternatives here, it's ok I guess. |

that's because you are from DC, James. It's better than Six Flags Darien Lake, but not as good as some other better thing I've never been to.
You wouldn't have heard of it down there in DC. |

I went on a Saturday that the schools were in session. The crowds weren't so bad. I wouldn't compare it to Disneyland though at least not the US location. I would say it's more fun than Hong Kong Disneyland though. |

Go with someone. I would have been bored if I went alone. I mean, really... is a ferris wheel cool by yourself? Rollercoasters are cool, even alone, but they aren't worth the 2 hour wait if you're by yourself.
I went on a thursday, and even in the morning it was crowded. Judging by the numbers of elementary school classes that were lined up at the gates, Everland is a prime fieldtrip location.
I went two weeks ago, and at that time, two out of three of their (non-kiddie) rollercoasters were down for maintenance. Hopefully that's resolved, now. The one rollercoaster I did go on (T-Money) was great. It was very fun but not painful.. and it didn't make me sick. There was a 2 hour wait, and we got there at 10:30 in the morning (an hour after opening). That seems to be the most anyone wanted to wait, however. We went back in the evening, and the line wasn't any longer.
There were many other fun things to do.. at night there was a light parade which was really cool. The fireworks at night were some of the best I've ever seen. There were enough events in general that we never ran out of things to do.
Somewhere around 5pm, the crowds really picked up. This was a weekday, I imagine weekend crowds would be bigger.
The cost was very cheap. I forget now, but I want to say 36,000 won for a full-day pass. It was worth it just for the fireworks.
The food was more expensive than McDonalds but not terribly expensive. We went to burger places, and the taste was ok. In general, prices all around were very reasonable.
I can't think of anything in particular to avoid. Everything was clean, modern, and generally well run. They put on a great show. Even the bathrooms were pretty clean. All in all, I was quite impressed. Maybe you should avoid the stupid "shoot the teddybear off the wall" game. I shot that stupid bear 4 times and it never fell off.
I give Everland 4 out of 5 stars... with one star removed for having 2/3 of the rollercoasters down for maintenance. |
