What do people generally eat for breakfast in Korea? I am flying out from the UK soon and while I like breakfast cereals I don't imagine there will be any cows to provide milk for cereal....
Toast perhaps? Or just a bowl of rice? |

What does the average hanguk eat for breakfast, is your question. It has a lot to do with rice and kimchi. Your main dish would be some kind of dubu...chiggae. Whatever that is. Or dwenjang chiggae. Oftentimes, fried eggs.
Or you can eat cereal. It's up to you. |

Sweet as a nut! I am glad about that.
I think it is a fair question, having been to S.E. Asia, where I didn't see a grain of cereal at all if I remember correctly.... |

I eat bagels (from Emart or Costco) or Quaker Instant Oatmeal (from Costco or you can also get it from the Foreign Food Mart in Itaewon but it's substantially more expensive), and coffee. Milk galore is available in many different forms. The only one I have trouble finding is skim milk. 2% is in (almost) every mart. |

Just what kind of education system do they have in the UK where people think there are only cows in Britain? |

The UK education system is probably worse than Koreas. Oh and OP, there is more milk available here than in my hometown back in UK so you'll have no problem. |

Probably one superior to China's where you're taught to learn everything parrot fashion then regurgitate it. So so many Chinese failed on my course at uni because of this so called "system." |

Koreans traditionally eat soup and rice for breakfast but times are a changing with younger generations.

don't forget the lack of air pollution too, so if you could take some over with you it would be greatly appreciated |

Is it an unreasonable assertion to make that:
Thailand has a similar climate to Korea
Thailand has no milk and cereal (in my experience) presumably due to a lack of cattle
ergo
Korea had no milk due to a lack of cattle
Yes clearly imports make the above argument redundant, so how much do cereals cost, say fruit and fibre from Tesco in korea? Are they prohibitively expensive? |

homeplus - which is 88% owned by tesco - sell their fruit and fibre for 6,000 if i remember correctly, i'm a branflakes or cornflakes fan myself!!!
koreas climate is not the same as thailand, the rainy season in korea is not really that rainy is comparison to the monsoon season in thailand, plus 8-10 degrees is prob the coldest thailand gets during the day at a normal altitude...whereas korea can get to minus those figures!!!
****Edit: how could i forget...korea is very unique in that is has four seasons.....you will find out about this greatness when your students keep telling you about it |
