I had read online that in order to get a VISA to S. Korea, that you had to have had possessed a passport for 6 months before you can get a VISA from the Korean Embassy.
I had just applied for my passport, but would that apply to me if I'm going through a recruiter for employment? |

| Nonsense. When I was due to come here my passport was about 2 months to expiration. I arrived on a brand-spanking new passport. |

Me too, but that was 3 years ago; since then lots has changed: medical checks, criminal checks, embassy interviews, etc.
Perhaps this has as well? |

LOL... Yeah, I think the OP has it all 'backwards'. 
Any county in the word will let you in with a passport that is only minutes old; however, most require a passport expiry date to be, at minimum, six months from the date of entry.

| Yes, you have it backwards. The passport should not expire within 6 months. It can be fresh off the press .... |

My girlfriend got her first passport weeks before she got her E2. There was zero problem with it.
To be safe, call the nearest consulate and ask this question specifically. |
