Search by a commom first name or last name: smith, sara, john, etc.
The discussion boards are interesting.
One thread has a hagwon posting that an F4 (gyopo) ran away and they want to know what they can do. The admin answers that they do not post gyopo info, only foreigners.

Good stuff--and it's a violation of Korean law. If you're listed on that site, please contact a lawyer! |

Throw some lawyer names out there along with an estimated price for such a lawsuit. And, what are the benefits? I don't need recruiters, so being on a list is not a prob. But, if I can make a buck, it would be great! Money makes the world go 'round. |

Some interesting alternate websites, connected with the above KFTRA blacklist, below.
Note that many links have been severed, probably after legal advice. But as the OP says, a search on a common English name, (John, Alex, Paul etc) will still pull up several hits, so maybe that blacklist is just more clandestine now? The weird thing is, that if you search 'American' or 'Canadian', you get zero hits.

Some people are listed as black, and some as red. What does it mean? |

If you go there you can add your own name. Black means a problem in class, red means a problem with paperwork or credentials, maybe? (수속문제).
Am I missing something here? I remember a couple years ago you could see profiles for the teachers listed, but now I just search for the name and get age and nationality. Is there still a profile page available? |

Good question, Draz. If anyone knows what the difference between a remark of black and a remark of red is, I'd like to know, too -
Notice how also there is only an English version of the welcome message on the English 'mirror' - but nothing else. And that the majority of the text I could see was saved as images, so it cannot be copied & pasted into an e-mail, translation program, etc.
Found this on another page there -

As for me, in 10 years of being in Korea, I had one bad/shady manager. He basically ran himself out of a business after I left; I wouldn't be surprised to find the 'red' 39 year old American male Glen that pops up in the search is supposed to be me - but I can't seem to locate any more details about that 'Glen' on the site? And the only Jackson is a Brit female.
Maybe just a coincidence, but if I find out it is 'me' and came from him, there will be kimchi to pay!

Someone should explain the difference between 'Austrian' & 'Australian', to the Korean website manager of KFTRA, who's possibly been watching too much Jim Carey (Dumb & Dumber)? |

According to the wife:
red means you've been a little bit of a problem and black means you have been a major problem.
Also, if you want more details about why you are listed, the site asks you to call.
We'll be calling Monday, posing as a hagwon, of course. Then, it's off to the lawyer to see if we can get some blood money!!!!! |

Just out of curiosity I cut & pasted the Korean text into Babelfish Altavista. As I suspected, the website has been directed to close, probably either by external or internal lawyers. |

No, it was probably a 'bead spread' problem. |
