| Hello. I heard that you can try to do some acting or movie extra work in South Korea? Has anyone done this? Does anyone have some information on it? Thanks! |

I don't think that you can legally do background character or other acting work in Korea unless you have the right kind of visa and register with Immigration.
Some production companies and recruiters may risk using E-2 visa-holders for some parts way in the background, but I think that foreigners who are F-visa holders (eg: married to a Korean) get most of the good steady jobs. |

As a handsome foreigner, you'll have no problem getting an acting job in K-land. |

I do all of those things legally on an E-2. My students treat me like I am a movie star by constantly yelling my name and giggling whenever they see me. I am in the background usually when it comes to anything school related. Obviously I'm a model as well (I'm told how handsome that I am 100 times a day). |

You can on a C-4 visa, but the problem there is you would have to have the job in advance.
If you aren't here already, have some savings & are willing to take the risk, you could always arrive on a C-3, hit up places with a modeling portfolio, and then try to secure a C-4. You'd have about 3 months to make it happen before you would have to leave (C-3 stipulation).
I've known a fair number of people in tv, movies, commercials, voiceovers, etc. - but they were NOT E-2 holders.
You might try a polite letter/PM to Zenpickle, and see if he can tell you more??? I think he knows something about the process.
Best of luck! |

Ok cool! Thanks for the info guys. I don't have a teaching Visa. I don't have a degree. Just diploma and certificate. So I can't teach legally when I'm there. So I'm just seeing what else I could do. |

Contrary to popular belief, they won't hire any white face dude.....they'd rather pay much less to cast the numerous eastern european and russians working here....and Nigerians for black guys.
Unless your somewhat competitive back home in those fields, I wouldn't bother....not to mention the pay isn't much.... |
