Friday (Teachers' Day) is a sports day event for our private school. Apparently, we have to play volley ball and soccer with neighbouring schools (yeah, right).

No classes though. Yippie!

They're doing a sports day here too.

They told me that all the teachers are supposed to run and play volleyball at another school all day and I told them I would prefer the day off. I hate how they constantly force teachers to play volleyball when many of them clearly don't want to. I'm a teacher, not a volleyball player.

I understand it is all about community building, but can't they find other ways of doing it than playing volleyball?

And why do they need to take away a holiday from you for this kind of thing?

Ditto....sports day for me also. I'm hoping to wriggle out of it....like playing sports but don't want to be the sole entry for the British contingent against several hundred Koreans. Not my idea of fun at all.
