I can't believe I am going to ask this but can anyone recommend a cute/ pretty laptop.
The main purpose of the laptop will be email, web surfing, word processing and watching movies through a tv.
Doesn't need amazing specs. but it does need a dvd drive.
Something with a 14 inch screen would be perfect.
The laptop won't be taken out of the apartment much (if at all). But she wants a laptop and won't even consider a desktop.
I had a look at the sony viao range but they seem a little pricey.
Any recommendations? (budget around 1,000,000) and no can't get it from the states or canada, as neither of us are from there. So please don't provide newegg/ tigerdirect links

| I've noticed the MSI brand put a lot of designer elements into their laptops. I've heard they work well too. |

Cheers had a look online and they appear quite nice for a reasonable price. I think the wind might be a little small tho.
Any good samsung laptops floating around?
I like the asus, nice clean lines but she likes them a bit more colourful |

If you need something colorful for a decent price I'd get either an MSI or Toshiba. The Samsungs in Korea are overpriced.
For larger notebooks 14 inches or bigger finding something colorful is pretty hard. Personally I'd get a no name brand (Anynote and Hansung are good in Korea) for much much less money and then buy a sticker for the front of the notebook. You can get the look that you really want and save yourself a couple hundred won in the process. |

you can purchase 'skins' to go over all the laptop surfaces. available in just about any theme; colour, patterns etc.

As you've probably seen, sony makes some pretty pink laptops. This is a high-spec model. You can get one closer to 1 million in a bit lower spec. Saw some for 990,000 a while back. Hunt Yongsan, and I bet you'll find some. |
Sorry I meant pretty not vomit inducing. This is not for a korean girl |

C'mon... every good girl needs a Pepto-Bismol laptop!
If you scroll down, there are some other cool colors. The red one looks nice. |

| Has she considered a Dell (Mini, Inspiron or Studio)? Dell has been offering customized skins for their laptops for some time now so she could choose a "pretty" skin and get her "pretty" laptop for a low price. |

Desktop replacement with skin. That way you can 'skin' it should you break up. What are you going to do with a pink laptop long term?
Remember, a laptop is three years. That's serious commitment you're thinking of here. |
