When I was younger, I was a pretty good vert skater.

And, Korea's parks are littered with nice ramps as well as street skating areas, in the parks.

So, I bought a board Sunday and visited the local skate park.

It was a blast even though I did some damage to my "not so young body".

I couldn't quite grind the lip on the half pipe, but I still had a blast trying.

Anyone else in the older crowd who is interested in re-living the days of old? Or, any younger guys with decks who like to shred at the parks who do not mind some old fart ginving it his best shot?

I'm getting back into it as well. even though i'm 28 I haven't skated street/vert since i was 18. I have been longboarding during that period though.
I just picked up a deck last week (to see it rain for the remainder of the week) Theres a nice tiny park near my place along AnyangCheon.
Where do you live?

you can skate at three parks in the seoul area:

1. boramae park: there is a large skate park inside of the park, the best in seoul, but usually has a lot of bmxers.
2. ttuksum resort: along the hangang - nearish to oksu, small.
3. dongdaemun: not sure exactly whereabouts it is but i'm told it's just north of the main shopping area.

for the ttuksum resort... are you talking about in Seoul Forest?
I know theres a skatepark in Seoul Forest too (which is near ttuksum station._

I'm pretty sure Ttukseom moved to Hanyang University.
I got a new board not so long ago myself. I'm 36 now and now I also have a hernia so I won't be skating for another month. I imagine I'll be able to get a few sessions in before I manage to hurt myself again but what the heck, it'll be fun. I would have killed to have these parks when I was growing up in Mississippi.
But I'm down with some old school skating when I'm back on my feet.
We'll teach these kids what a boneless is. Ha.

Some of my friends are pretty serious skaters. One guy is even sponsored by Nike. There's a good park near Dongdaemoon they always go to, and I know they visit a lot of Suwon's skate parks.

I'm in the first category. Bought a 2nd hand board a short while ago and like some like-minded souls to go skating with.

I've been skating around Seoul/Gyeonggi-Do for the past 4.5 years. I skate pretty much street because the parks are hurtin' here.

However, a friend and I are planning a trip out to Gangwon-Do to skate the biggest/newest park in Korea. If anyone wants to join us...we'll probably go next Sunday by train in the morning and come back in the evening. .
