| I was kind of pissed when they didn't invite me to play, but when I saw how hard out they were it felt like I had dodged a bullet. I rate myself at most sports, but Korean teachers have a very high minimum level of volleyball ability. |

Yeah it seems pretty popular. Some teachers at my school asked me to play and I said I'd never played it and didn't really have any interest in doing so. They were shocked and demanded to know why.
Me: "In the UK, volleyball is more of a womens' game." Shut them right up. The joke's on them though, the real reason is I'm probably too short. |

| At my school, the only sport I saw that was really taken seriously was when the high school teachers played the middle school teachers in soccer. It was kind of depressing seeing how overly serious they took it... |

I have posted about my experiences last year already. I was unhappy the no-foreigner rule was rolled out after I had trained with them.
This year I was expected to play but couldn't because of my parents class.
They are competitive. It's a shame it's the only sport they really play. |

I felt a bit bad, I really like and get on with the other teachers at my school. They didn't seem to care too much I suppose, certainly not our 6ft 6in PE teacher. There's not much you can say to a man who has a few inches shy of a foot over you. |

Well the first round's just taken place and my school destroyed the competition, 2-0 2-0, easy and on to the next round on Wednesday.
GO SHINYON!! GO SHINYON!!!! KIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLL THEM!!!!
We've been training every Wednesday in our rooftop reduced-size court and I don't mind helping them out, I'd just be sitting at my desk otherwise. |

Ha!, sorry it's indoors, but that'd be a great way to measure commitment.
I've just found out we're up again Munyon in the Nambu district semis. Apparently they're the best team and they're got an ex-pro. Sick. I'm gonna have to slip some 'roids in our waterbottles or get the boys to find out who this ringer is and go to work on her knees.... |

Yes I agree Greg.
I am in Busan too and I have played v-ball like twice in my life before Korea.
They said "you look strong and are tall, why are you not good?"
I said "In the US, mostly Women play volleyball, Men like football, basketball and baseball."
I played for a few weeks but I basically stood there intentionally and let it be known I could hurt them in the tourneys lol. |
