| The SMOE application asks me if I'm applying to any other recruiters. Does anyone know if checking "yes" will disqualify me from SMOE or at least put me in an unfavorable light? I'm also working with a recruiter for large, private schools. Thanks and God bless. |

Hey corn-cob, you didn't see the "Job-related Discussion Forum" that
is available on this website? I would disqualify you right away for not
being able to read and understand simple English. |

Hey NCdan,
SMOE asks that you apply only through one recruiter, and have said in the past that applying through multiple recruiters will disqualify you from consideration. Don't check yes and only go through one, to be safe. |

Considering I don't have a job yet, I thought I'd post in the "General Discussion Forum," which seems to make a lot more sense if you ask me. Thanks for not answering my question.

I was under the impression that I would be disqualified from SMOE if I applied to SMOE through multiple recruiters. Here is the part of application I'm talking about:
"20. Are you currently an applicant of any other teaching program?
□Yes □No
If yes, please indicate □Other Province Office of Education □EPIK □Private Institution"
I was just curious if anyone knew if SMOE would not consider my application for also working with a private recruiter? Either way, I'll be honest and check yes, but I may wait on the SMOE application since the private recruiter already has already sent me one very good offer. |

I think the part of the application you quoted is taking about applying for other jobs, no? EPIK or a Hogwan? I think you might be confusing private recruiter and private instruction. One is the recruiter you go through to get a job, and the other is a teaching job in the private sphere.
Either way, SMOE says don't apply through multiple recruiters. If you want the job, just go through one. |
