I figure this could be a thread about issues for Sports Junkies. (In my world this rates a sticky, but others may not feel the same.) Here's my issue.

I'm thinking about getting the Big Ten Network for this fall. Some questions.

1) I'm changing cities. I'll be in Anyang near Seoul. Is there a good sports bar for foreigners in the area? If there is I'll save my money for drinks.

2) Can you get it in Korea? I know stuff gets blocked out in other countries. I don't know about this.

3) Is it worth it? I love college football and basketball, but sometimes I feel so sports deprived that I will watch anything in English. I'm a Midwesterner which is why I picked the BigTen. However, if there is a better option I'm open.

There is a bar in Anyang called Uncle Don's that regularly shows U.S. games like NFL and NBA. I'm not sure about college games, but I'm sure you could ask.

Unfortunately I'm not really sure where it is. It's about a three minute taxi ride from the Acro Towers in Beomgye/Pyeongchon. Maybe someone else can provide some better info.

There is a better option - it's called the ACC

Why would I switch to a Johnny-come-lately conference? I stick with the original - the best.

I'll concede that in football the Big 10 is best, but in basketball it doesn't get any better than the ACC. At least my Tar Heels didn't choke in the big game like a certain red and grey school from the Big Ten.

Also, what's up with the Big Ten having 11 schools? Can't they count?

True, you guys and run the rock. NC beat my Illini for the Whole Sheebang not so long ago. I'm just saying we are the original D1 conference. We have an unequaled history. The rest of you are copycat pretenders.

As to 11 in the Ten, brand recognition. You will perhaps have noticed that their is a hidden 11 in the Big Ten logo.

uh message to the op, you are in korea, you're not going to be getting american networks like the big 10 network here even on sat. it doesnt work that way here. even espn has been koreanized

the only way you will get any college sports here is if 1) you are eligible for an afn dish meaning you have to be connected to the usfk which i highly doubt or 2) you find streaming links on various sites or 3) you get somebody to set up a slingbox in the states and again you watch online

man i cant believe the incredible lack of knowledge people have sometimes

We're all striving to be as well informed as you are but just can't match up.

Neither can I. The Big Ten Network is available over the internet. It isn't just a cable channel. The only question is if the Big Ten Network allows its content to be viewed over the internet overseas.

There are few things more pathetic than an ignorant fool with a cocksure attitude accusing others of ignorance. Open your eyes before you open your mouth next time.

I've known the 11 was hidden in the logo for a long time, I just think it's weird not changing it to something that makes sense. I guess I understand the brand recognition, but really, who needs Northwestern?

Sean May should have fouled out halfway thru the second half.

I-L-L!
