This has been asked in past threads...but not sure how well the search engine is working lately...if you can...try the search...some useful information has been discussed concerning this topic.

As a quick guide...
The Grammar Book - Celce-Murcia, Larsen-Freeman
Practical English Usage - New edition - Michael Swan
Grammar for English Language Teachers - Martin Parrott

As an introductory set....
Essential Grammar in Use
Basic Grammar in Use....both by Raymond Murphy
Advanced Grammar in Use...Martin Hewings

Good luck with your grammar quest.

Practically Painless English, by Sally Foster Wallace is a pretty basic book, but I think it's a good starting place for someone who wants a complete grammar review.

After getting through Wallace's book, you might look at Martha Kolln's Understanding English Grammar. It is the text we used in my uni grammar course, and I enjoyed it.
