I'm preparing to ship a big box of assorted stuff back to the States. I picked up one of the large boxes at the post office (the "6" size), but I'm not sure if there's a weight limit...? I think I heard 20 kilos at one point, but I'm not sure if that's true...I plan to ship by ground/boat, if that makes a difference. |

IF you are shipping by SURFACE mail (air and EMS have different (read higher but MUCH more expensive) limits)
then you are limited to 20kg (44 lbs) AND either a #5 box
OR (if you do not use a #5 box) 2 meters as measured by 2* height + 2* width + length. (as in 30cm x 30cm x 80cm.)
A number 6 box is too big for surface mail; assuming they let you send surface to the states - many stations will tell you that they no longer ship surface to the states. |

If you're worried just send several smaller boxes. I believe the going rate is about $30 per 10 kilos. |
