Does anyone know the number of a cheap delivery (furniture) guy in Seoul?
A while back someone told me that a Korean American, who lived near itaewon, moved furniture for a good price - if you know who i'm talking about, please could you post his number?
if not, thanks for reading!

I've used him, he moves mostly teachers and his English is excellent. He's not Korean American though.

I wouldn't use Brandon. I've inquired a twice about prices to move and it's about twice the price of the Korean blue bongo truck guys. If you have a Korean friend, ask him/her to reserve a moving truck and guy for you. Sorry, I don't have the number of the last mover I used. The Koreans seem to know who to call though.

most moving companies have the last 4 digits as 2424 which is 이사이사 in korean.

이사하다 - means to move in Korean

Over the past couple of years I've read good things and bad things posted about Brandon. My experience was all good. He was on time, quick and a nice enough guy. His price was fair, I suppose..though I didn't care bc my school was paying for it. To give you an example: He moved one truck load of stuff from Itaewon to Nowon for 70k (I think I could have gotten him cheaper but again, it was not my dime).

meh, i've used Brandon, and often he tells me that he doesnt do moving anymore he is more into real estate.

for large moves I guess he is better, because I have called him about moving a single dresser from hongdae to hapjeong station (1 station away) and I told him I had two friends so he wouldnt have to actually do any lifting, as he wouldn't come down lower than 70, which costs more than the dresser is actually worth.

If you can speak Korean or know someone who does, then I think your best bet is to use a Korean company.

okay, thanks for the input everybody.
I think i'll try to get a korean friend to call a local guy, and if that falls through, i'll give Brendon a call as a last resort.

I have been looking for a bigger place and see Brandon's ads everywhere. But this creeps me out taking pics of an apt he is trying to rent while the tenant is sleeping...

hahahahaha - oh man, SUPER CREEPY.

i have an experience with that brandon guy as well. when i first moved to seoul, i moved a bed and some small kitchen supplies (in a box) from Itaewon to Non-Hyeon (maybe a 5,000 won taxi ride). he charged me 100,000! given of course that my apartment didn't have an elevator; but still.

in comparison however, just last month i needed a mover again more some smaller items from a farther distance (maybe a 9k taxi ride). i got a quote from him again for around 80k. fed up, i asked my co-teacher and she found a guy -- no, two guys -- to move for 40,000 won.

my advise is not to go with brandon for moving services as i'm sure anyone who can speak korean could find a deal for half the price. logically, you will most likely always pay more when using a middle-man. this time it seems to be a 100% price increase.

thanks to jackdaniels post above, i wouldn't use him for realty services either. Laughing

Strange, i used him to move about a bedroom's worth of stuff. He drove me + my stuff down in a smaller truck (not full size moving semi) from SHINCHON (Hongdae) all the way down to Kangnam, Daechi. Carried and moved all my stuff all for 50,000. Took us 1-1.5 hours to make the drive because of traffic.

I know this is late, but for anyone doing searches for moving companies or just to hire a truck hope this helps....

I contacted the Brandon guy too about moving...just to get a quote for our move. He's really high on prices from what I found though. He quoted about 120,000 more than a mover my korean friend found for me. I'm sure it is convenient to use him because he speaks english(perhaps that's his premium), however If you have a Korean friend, have them to contact a moving company and I'm 100% positive you will get a better deal.
