Ok I know that this topic has been done like a million times ( or so I hear) but its impossible to find it in my search and instead of searching through endless number of posts i thought I'd just create my own
I was wondering about recruiters vs direct school contracts, which you would recommend
I've seen these following websites and was wondering if any one had any info on them
www.asknow.ca
www.koreanhorizons.com
www.teachaway.com
www.canconx.com
www.reachtoteachrecruiting.com
www.travelandteachrecruiting.com
I was also wondering if any one else had any other ones they'd recommend
oh and as a last note, i was curious as to the average salary and if it has decreased somewhat given the current international economic climate
yes i realize how redundant my questions are but please help a (super) newb out |

As far as I know salary hasn't decreased.
Also I went through a recruiter at Korvia and was fortunate to land at a very good school. |

I also recommend Korvia. Try emailing sam at korvia dot com as he's based in the US (though the company is Korean) and therefore won't want to call you at 2am. |

Seriously... a lot of people go through big name recruiters, but the one I'm currently with has been GREAT! I got really lucky because I had no idea about ESL in Korea and just happened to respond to a listing on my uni's jobsite thinking they were a school. Of course, by now I know that one goes through a recruiter to land a job in Korea (at least in the beginning) and mine has done nothing but treat me incredibly well and leverage her relationship with several teaching program admins to benefit me. I'd say find one that works best for you--although I have heard Korvia recommended over and over here. |

Both ESL411 and ASKNow are good ones. Jason Creswell is the man to talk to over at ASK and James Jeong is a guy who helped my friends get a great job in Seoul. |

I second AskNow. I have spoken with them numerous times and know two people that work in Wonju that used them. They had nothing but nice things to say and I can say that AskNow is extremely professional and aims to take care of its clients. |

I'm in the process of looking around so if you don't mind me asking, who did you go through? |
