May 23/24, ceremonies begin on the 20th
This event was amazing last year! Top notch children's and professional groups performing Pungmul, or Nongak, as well as modern fusion groups and international drum ensembles. Centered near the Bupyeong, Incheon subway station, growing out in four directions. Too much to take in!!!!
A great chance to see a wide variety of acrobatic Korean folk drumming and singing and horn playing, derived from farmers' music and lifestyle, which is derived from shamanic traditions. Also lots of hands-on activities like drums from around the world, SANGMO hat-ribbon spinning, BEONA disc spinning, and Tightrope walking for the kids.

That's awesome. This is the traditional performance I came to see that are extremely rare. Do you know where those hour glass shaped drums are sold? Will PM you if I manage to get a vid this weekend. I'm also still looking to view an Arirang song performance. I played a video of this from Youtube to my students and they hated it, but I think it's beautiful. They just want to modernize and not be reminded of what they no longer want to be.

OP, I bet you'd love traveling Europe as it offers many different types of traditional and some not so traditional types of street performances right in your face. The buskers of all types, sizes, colors, shapes, nationalities, instruments, devices, and bizzarities blew my mind in Germany, but unfortunately I didn't have a video cam. Germany is one small country that must be the worlds most high arts oriented culture thinking outside the box kind of place where most people study about the world, get paid vacation, travel on a jet plane to a far away place, and get a decent education. America severely lacks in this department, but I enjoyed your Honkfest vid. That was a thrill to see Americans come out and have a happy spirited music festival. I don't think I'd feel any fears and discomfort at that one like I did at other events such as Mardi Gras in St. Louis, the little easy as they call it. In Europe, I fit in great and had the time of my life, except it's not a job market for me so I'm not living there for that reason. You should go if you can fit that trip into your time and budget. I was military so I got an extended viewing to the point of knowing it as if it were my 2nd home. Too bad it's not a job market I can enter as it's so FUN!
